Body stripe

Hi all, I plan to apply some new body stripes soon and was wondering if anyone has any hints or tips regarding their position and application methods. I am sure it must be fairly easy but I am sure that you guys can point me in the correct direction, so as to avoid the undoubted pitfalls.

Hi Paul, fairly easy but takes patience. The stripe covers the waistline, so take your roll of stripe and a roll of masking tape, place the space between the stripes against the waist line, and the roll of masking tape above and hard up against it, put a felt tip dot where the rolls touch. Using the dot as a guide, make a line the length of the car with the lower edge of masking tape, now you can muck about with it to get the exact position without wasting the stripe. Apply the stripe only peeling back the paper about 2 feet at a time, butting it up against the masking tape. Before you do the rear wheel arch, with the backing still in place, cut off the lower line and taper it's ends. Don't forget that where the stripe continues forward of the front arch it drops slightly. I know some folk who can do this by eye, and some who THINK they can Enjoy. Martin.
