Front wings replace or new arches

umm a familiar story here , i have just stripped my front wing, underneath the multitude of paint that came off like a plastic film is a front arch repair section it ok but to me a little to much filler work on the arch lip my orignal plan was to keep the front wings as they are so as not to dissturb the gutter running along the bonnet and all the other joints , plus the cost of new wings seems to be bordering £600 . knowing me i will then get fussy on the inner arch ,again mine look servicable but one you start removing the outer arch things tend to go pete tong.
So questions are has anyone any tips on fitting front arches and do they fit orrrrr does anyone have left and right used wings for sale. i might crack on with the rest of the car and not jump into decisions maybe wait for a e bay deal

Hi Edd,Im at the same point with my own car on one side.The inner arch on mine is fine,its just the outer.
I spoke to Robsport about the outer repair arch that they do(although not in stock for a while now) and they tell me that it is made by the same company that make the SOCTFL panels although it doesnt carry the label.
Anyway I have decided I do not want to disturb my original front wings and I will probably use an arch cut from a good front wing.
That way you can be sure its the right shape..
Im in somebody elses hands re the grafting in though..Im expecting it to be done in the next month or so.

i fitted a arch to my brothers car the fit was ok, but if the arch has gone its properly also gone down by the front valance ,and the repair arch dose not go right to the front valance
one other thing you have already cut the front wing to fit a sill,if it was me i would replace the wing

Cheers Dave. I think if money was no object I would replace but I'm trying to keep a lid on things after paying to much for the car in the first place. Maybe after I spend some more time on the rear a good deal will come along

Patch work wings is an option! Could not afford £300 for a full wing. got lucky with the drivers side on ebay (£175!) but on this side no such luck

Just lots of elbow grease and the right amount of filler. I did the inner wing whilst the arch was cut off but on this side I cut out the inner wing and then tacked the inner arch repair panel in place before I hacked off the outer panel which then gave me access to weld the arch in properly.

Hi Neil. Thanks for your pictures. I remember looking at your pictures but missed the ammount of work you did on the passenger side. Wow. For me it's a case of all or nothing my car has been subject to a total restoration and has new arches. I'm just not happy with filler work on the lip part of the arch. I will keep my eye on e bay but seeing as the fit is good at present I may just rework the filler most stags have some filler and the rest of the wing is good with lots of grease inside
