I have 205/60R15s on Split rims. I have no issues with catching, and that included when the car had 4 aboard with some luggage.

Kevin, with tyres as wide as 205mm do you have any issues with clearances around the bodywork etc?

Nope, all fine. I'm using standard suspension and poly bushes, there may be issues if you use lowered springs etc.

Kevin, does the extra tyre width give any noticeable difference to the handling or grip of the car on the road?

Compared to the fossilised 185s that were on my Stag when I got it they are brilliant!
I'm running with no name budget tyres and very happy with them. To be honest I went for 205s mainly because I prefer the look of a wider tyre.

I have Dunlop SP2000 SPORTS on my Stag with very good thread, I don't know how old they are. I have looked for the date on them but cannot find it, would it have it on the other side of the tyre?. I know how to read the date code.

Some tyres (maybe most) have the date code only on one side of the tyre.

Yes, I have my wheels and tyres off the car and they all have the date code on the inside, my wife's modern car have it on the outside.
