borg waner 35 won't change up

Hi guys i have a 73 stag with autobox bw 35 the problem is from first to second gear
when i set off in drive it will just stay in that gear until i slighty let off the revs then it will change
2nd to 3rd no problem ,reverse no problem
i would appreciate any help

have you tried the fluid level? try checking it. If that's ok, check the kick down cable is moving freely. If no joy I'd try changing the fluid, with a flush as well.

Also check the kickdown cable - out of adjustment and it could easily give those symptoms.

Hi thanks for all the suggestions have uncoupled the kickdown cable from the carbs and it changes instantly
so there must be an ajustment needed not sure inner or outer cable
