Removal is the easy part. Getting it back in is the trick. The wisdom seems to be put the rubber seal on the glass, then the exterior trim and then put the assembly into the frame. A string installed in the grove in the rubber helps to get it in and some lubricant ( KY Jelly apparently works well!) is needed. If installing a new seal there seem to be issues that some are a bit short. If you search on the forum this has been discussed a few times.
    Good luck

if you can get a blade between the seal and frame to get a string in place you can pull his around the screen to pop the seal out.

          David,
If the existing seal is old and perhaps rather hard & you plan to replace with a new seal , you may want to consider cutting the old seal with a blade , and thereby you can safely take the windscreen & trim out in one piece, what you don't want to do is damage the trim. I recently had my screen replaced at Faversham's by their windscreen man , who did a great job , and took less than an hour , and that the approach he took.

thanks, have got a new seal from Rimmers but am now concerned as other members are saying the Rimmer part fit is poor as it is too short.

Ditto - I have a new seal in the barn and I'm scared to start the job in case it is too short. So I just gummed up the old one where I think it leaks with clear sealer, plus I don't go out in the rain!!

First time I took the screen out I tried that method and cracked the glass, far better to cut the screen out of the old seal, then you take the sealff the frame.
