anybody fitted a hood supplied by Don hoods and if so any thoughts good or bad. they do a nice BRG one that I'm thinking of going for so any feedback would be useful please.

I seem to remember that Don did cheap vinyl hoods for MGs, how much is it, and is it mohair ? Martin.

Perform a search on them on the forum . A number of members here (wb50 comes to mind) have used them and have been pleased with the results. For a reasonable amount they will also fit the hood assuming your frame is straight .

I have used them both for the TR8 and the Stag. the qualiry is excellent and in most cases better then others!. if you are in no rush both cars will be at malvern for you to peruse.
I cant coment on their fitting though as I fitted them both myself.

I can reccommend Don hoods. I use their covers on my hoods, but I only have experience of their top grade mohair (DMC). They do fit nicely and I have always had good quality too. I dont know what their fitting service is like though.

Lead time has been a problem for me recently, you may have to wait four or five weeks to get a new cover.

hood update, good price for the hood itself from Don hoods but thought the fitting price of nearly 200 quid was a bit steep and a 3 month waiting list so looks like will have to fit it meself ! I've checked with TSSC and triumph world and the article on fitting wasn't in their mags so must have been ours.so come on guys help me out and check those mags from last year ( cant check mine as "someone" has binned them )

Have you tried south east trimming? 01795 522588, 07931 507879. New mohair hood with recon frame and new seals £750 or new mohair hood fitted £410. I had my hood fitted by him about 4 years ago, still looks good!

Ah, quite a way, Faversham. I had mine done on a saturday, left home from stourport at 5am, there for 8.am, done by 12 home by 4 i think. Bit of a journey but gave the Stag a good rn!

I had a Dom hood in blue Mohair last autumn fitted by a local trimmer I had no issues with price or delivery it was blue mohair with beige lining inside looks good.
