    Thanks everyone

The Stat does have the foot on it and has the hole too. I fitted it with the hole at the top. I don't have my old rad anymore as it was completely shot and I was quoted £150 plus vat to get it re-cored. The fan hitting it made a complete mess of it. It was rusty in places too. I think i'm going to have to take out the radiator again and get it tested. I may order a new stat today though and do both. It seems like a good reason to have pizza this week.

If you are heading down the new Rad route, have you considered a SuperGill jobby from Tony Hart ?

        Hi Malc

Don't really have the funds for that at the moment. I've been throwing money at the car left, right and centre over the last 3 months. I just want to get it sorted out and on the road now. I have phoned the place that supplied me the radiator and they said to bring it back to them to see if anything is wrong with it. If not then I have a problem elsewhere.

Just read a post somebody had put on the Club Triumph website about the heater hoses. He was saying that his heater hoses had been fitted around the wrong way. Earlier cars were different from the later ones apparently. He said the ROM shows the positioning for the later cars. Is it possible that these have been fitted around the wrong way on my car? I didn't change them myself as they were done when it was serviced. Mines a 1974 car. Just a thought.
