    Kenlowe

As the subject of secondary fans has been of interest lately, I thought that I'd approach Kenlowe direct to see if we can get an SOC discount, or failing that, a group discount buy of a 16" fan. I'm awaiting a reply but I'll post as soon as I have one. If there is a possibility, I'll be asking for those who might be interested, so get your thinking caps on.

    If you don't ask..........you don't get.

Good idea Tim but why didn't you suggest it a week ago (before I bought my fan....).

BTW have a look at my thread on Kenlowe, they recommend a 14.5" haigh performance fan with 2 speed settings, low power set to auto, high power with manual switch - I get "jet boost", presumably sucks me along.

I go passed Kenlowe's front door at least twice a week (2 miles from my house in Burchetts Green)and once popped in to ask if they would sell me a fan direct. They firmly directed me their distributors and said they did not have a mechanism to sell direct from the factory.

A suppose a group buy approach to a distributor may work. They must make a huge profit margin on these kits and I would be very supprised if the 'factory gate' price to the distributors is over £50

Thats what I I fiitted and paid (full price) a couple of weeks ago. Had a fault with the sensor and a bit of an argument but they sent a new one. Its a good unit but fragile to handle, I unfortunately broke a couple of cosmetic fins, simply lifting on the fins.

Fitting is fiddly, I used their brackets and attached to the top and bottom radiator rails. Means the fan has to be detached to take the rad out.

I removed the engine fan cause I wanted to see if the Kenlowe alone could handle it (don't want it overheating again like last year) and on slower setting it cut in/out, quite happily so pleased with it (although tempwasn't that hot outside).I had tried a couple of modified Fiatfans before but they didn't do much.

Try an Opel Senator aircon fanfrom scrappies if you can find one. Robust, steel sealing ring with mounting legs, just fits, easy to mount and trouser flapping air flow all for £7.

                  Mark.

My driving got much better after I took them off too :P.

re scrap yards - East of England scrappers mostly have cars that predated the invention of electricityor lots of Peogeot 206's. Oh to be back in the Thames valley area......
