Headrest Adjustment

Well, I did try searching without success, so my question remains:

How do you adjust the height of the headrest on OE Stag seats? Or can you not? In which case how do you get them out of the seat back?

They are adjustable (a little) and removable but if they've been in one place for a while it can be a b*****d of a job.

The headrest has an oval shaped metal tube that sits inside a slightly larger oval tube that is a part of the seat frame. There is a metal barb that prevents it coming out fully and some have a plastic roller arrangement - although none of the five or six seats I've dismantled recently have had this.

To adjust them, it should just require a sharp upward movement but to say that's easier said than done would be an understatement

If yours don't submit to the sustained sharp upward movement then you've probably best off removing the seat back - trouble is, it can be a bu***r getting the screws back in afterwards. Anyway, you'll see two of the screws and two more are hidden by the seat back map pocket. Once these are all out then pull the back downwards to release two 'tongues' at the top and you'll see all of the headrest fitting and you'll be able to remove it.

Assume you've talking about the MK2 Stag headrests, rather than the MK1 'Federal' headrests which aren't adjustable.

It was a while when I adjusted ours but IIRC they're a friction fit and just slightly seize over time - I unscrewed the rear backing to the seat and wiggled and pushed the headrest stalk from there
