cylinder heads

ive just bought a left hand head, but think i may have bought a pup the numbers on it say LM 25 WP i think that means its alli,then V3408
i know stag head numbers are V31 or V32

could this head be a TR7 and if it is would it fit a stag

Dave,

LM25 is the type of alloy, and still used on modern engines today. If it is a TR7 head it won't fit the Stag. The most obvious difference is the part of the casting that the timing chain fits inside. On the TR7 this is much narrower than the Stag heads.

Mk1 Heads are denoted with the part no's 307872 & 307873
Mk2 Heads are denoted with the part no's 88313210 & 88313211
These found just above the spark plugs

Hi New to this,
Not sure of the legal position but I wouldn't mind betting you could get your money back on the basis that the description of the item is wholly inaccurate and is effectively mis-sold, even if you saw it before buying it. The seller might play ball without any hassle - let's hope so? I am sure there will be plenty of guys on here that have experience of something similar - maybe someone will offer hope, or maybe gloom!

I have just paid for 2 wheel bearings for my pug only one turned up i have contacted the seller and explained the situation i recived a email asking for the reg of my saxo ????????? i rang and managed to talk to the seller most sorry explained that the part i brought was not for the pug. he rang me back and told me he will sort it out on that day and a pair of new bearing are on the way.

I think if we sent the guy/gal these recent posts by email, he/she might raise the white flag! Seller could still have been acting honestly of course, so benefit of the doubt?

Unless the price paid was a small fortune they might have sold it just as easily as if it was a 7 head?
