    A sticky question

What is the recommended / tried & tested adhesive type for attaching the 'TRIUMPH' badge to the front bumper plinth ?

Search of the forum didn't turn up an answer, they're not expensive I know so I could take my chances but I don't want it coming off when warm nor melt the plastic

    Cheers

Hi Paul, they're self adhesive and it's pretty good, I wouldn't bother adding anything. Martin.

Thanks Martin, I feel very silly now for not realising that

I've just (like last weekend) fitted new ones front and back. 2 things I would comment on, be very careful with the alignment and try to remove the remains of the old glue first. I didn't do the latter well enough and the new badges don't sit perfectly flat. They are much thinner than the originals but still look Ok and I don't think they'll come off in a hurry.

            Cheers,
            Mike.
Mine since 1987. Finished a 20+ year rebuild in 2012. One of many Triumphs and a 1949 LandRover!

Paul - don't listen to Martin. You have to lick the back of the badge

Don't I also need to lick the plinth to ensure a good bond ?

Old badges off last night, all glue residue removed & plinth degreased - but could I locate the new badges - DOH !

That depends entirely on how much you've had to drink ! No booze, no sticky Martin.

That's exactly why I took a good slug of Makers Mark before setting about my degreasing of the plinth by tongue

Now off to find some 9V batteries to test . . .
