Non Stag problem.

Sorry not to do with Stags but there is always help on this forum for which I am truly grateful.

When any new e mails arrive on my i pad, they tend to delete any that are already there in the inbox.

I have deleted all 4 e mail addresses and started again with just my main one, now I can send myself a test message from my i pad and it gets received and new ones do not delete the existing, BUT when I send a test e mail from my main computer to myself, it arrives on my main pc but not on the i pad.

Any ideas please?

Jeff,

This could be any number of issues.
Although Oz may be different, I will attemp to help but need a bit more info.

Who do you run your email thru?
Is it an Exchange account or Pop3?
What mail app are you using on the iPad? Is the the inbuilt one or Outlook for iPad?
Check your mail handling settings. It may be set to move or delete emails once they have been read.
If you can answer the above questions we will be alot closer to solving the issue.

My e mail is with BT Yahoo.
Pop 3
Inbuilt on i pad.
There are no settings on the i pad to delete as such, only to delete after periods of time, at the moment set to max of 1 month, but there is a setting requesting before deleting (manually I assume).

Hi Jeff,

You mentioned that just running one email address has solved the deleting issue, so lets leave that for now.
In reard to the other, and again assuming that you have outlook on your pc. Can you tell which version?
There is a setting in outlook that allows you to leave a copy of emails on the server. If this is not set, your PC will recieve the email or your iPad (whichever one you use first) and it will be deleted off the server and not be available to any other device.

If you can determine which version of Outlook you have, it would be easier for you to Google "Leave copy on server", than for me to try and expalin from the other side of the world.
BTW. You would be please to know it's warmer in England than it is here.

This issue seemed really odd so i did some research.
It would appear that Yahoo having an issue with there servers not pushing email to iPad. Here is one of the forums I checked out, you can see it is frustrating people all over the world. https://discussions.apple.com/thread...t=300&tstart=0
You mentioned you had other accounts, can you retry one of these and see if you get any results?

My e mails are still not being 'pushed' from my pc to i pad if sent from my pc as a test and only a few from outside are filtering through.

Hi Jeff,

Sorry I couldn't fix it for you.
Just a thought. I run our company emails through Microsift 365. It is a cloud based system and is good value for money. It will allow access to your emails anywhere and from practically any device. Because it is cloud based, anything you you do on any device is reflected on all the other devices. Maybe the club itself coulkd set up if members were prepared to pay the monthly cost.
We have 40 licenses here at a cost of AU$7.95 per month each.

Just double checked the advanced settings and 'leave message on server' was unticked even though I thought I had ticked it, so this should make a difference which was one of the first things you suggested, thanks again.

I have had so many problems with BT Yahoo which is why I opened a G mail account and even now I am having trouble with a Yahoo e mail account, all configuration matches the other e mail addresses yet it fails to log on to POP3 server, same problem I had with another which now works fine for some unknown reason.

I've had email problems with by and outlook. Signing out of yahoo then signing back in again usually fixes it but I have to do this 3-4 times a week

Hi Guys,
It would appear that this is an inherent issue with yahoo. Most "FREE" email providers have some sort of glich in their systems given the amount of different OS out there. i.e. apple android, microsoft, etc etc.
The best you can do is to keep trolling thru forums and find the latest "FIX" some geek has come up with.
On another note, would anybody have a way of finding out the date my Stag came off the assembly line?? LD43296AK.

Funny how I get on average, 40 spam e mails a day yet I cannot receive a legitimate one I sent to myself (as a test, not because I have no mates).

And so far, I have been awarded/offered about $500 million from different sources, mainly Nigeria strangely enough, even had the FBI send me an e mail this morning.

Have not been greedy to take a penny as I would have top pay all that capital gains tax and that would upset me.
