I have been told that whilst driving, my brake lights are intermittent, so would I be correct in assuming that this can only be the brake pedal switch? When they come on, they are both workng and correct.

That's quite normal Andrew. It signals to the car behind that you are slowing down…
I would check the adjustment of the switch. Could be it needs a tweak. If that doesn't fix it then check all the connections from the switch through to the earth wires at the back.

Hi Andrew, it's easier than that, the switch passes through a flimsy bracket, check that the switch nut is nipped up, and the bracket probably just needs to be bent up a little. Martin.
