Having read various for sale adverts stating Mk1 rare early example etc, it got me thinking ,of the first batch of 700 odd cars, how many are still kicking about. any body got an idea. Also on a different thread does any one have knowledge of the whereabouts of UMC 128L it was my first stag which was restored about 1993 she was lovely apart from the 2.5 straight six, sorry originality buffs but i was young and daft and gripped by stag paranoia.Any info on either would be greatly recieved. Cheers Paul.

LD1 is on the road and is still in use. LD2 is the first American spec Stag and is I believe undergoing restoration. One of our local members owns LD 'ninety something'.
LD14 was the James Bond stag and is now in a museum in the states, the whole 'cars of the Stars' museum in Keswick having been bought by an american museum.
Some more info here:

I have just joined the club and have searched my number plate and found this thread,
I bought UMC128L around 9 years ago from a chap in Derby.
In that time I have done around 500 miles per year in her and she has slowly got a bit tired
I took her to a local paint shop yesterday for a full over winter restoration
I was given a pile of receipts and photos of the 1993 restoration which I assume you got done and if so, we are , or at least we're, very close neighbors as I recognize the back alley in the photos????
Despite the dlva description this car still has the straight six engine in it (actually its now on a bench in my garage being rebuilt) I assume you didn't tell them that you took out the 3.5 so perhaps now I should set the record straight after 19 years.
The car is still very solid just a bit tatty around the rear wheel arches but it is getting a full respray anyway
Do you know why it was registered in 1986?
