Hardtop Respray - SE London / Bromley Area

    Hi,
Am currently trying to bring my hardtop back ready for service this winter , fortunately its structurally 100% rock solid , and has a really good headling , and matches my body colour , but unfortunately has a couple of small dents , which really bug me . So the plan is to either get the dents filled & the repair sprayed & blended, or get the dents filled & top fully resprayed. Am based in West Wickham/ Bromley so am looking for a stag friendly body shop in the area -Recommendations would be greatly appreciated , also if anyone had similar done, an idea on what I am looking at ££££.
    Cheers

Mine was £500 last year at Wards, no dents but had to go to bare metal due to poor prep when last painted. I didn't get the headlining changed as no rips or tears but regret that now so consider having it done too, easiest with top stripped.

      Ian,
Thanks for that , it's a tough one & I know how you feel, I'll probably live to regret not changing my headlining as well , but it's so easy just to keep adding & adding jobs to the list . I also have the issue of the rear window to consider - do I take that out ? for the respray or leave it in - Common sense says take it out , but I,m not really comfortable with changing glass myself so it will be another cost , before you know it with replacing trim & seals you are spending £1000 + and own a new hardtop.
In an ideal world I'll find a bodyshop that can fill and blend in for a couple of hundred , and I'll be over the moon because I can see the join , however am pretty certain that won't be how it plays out .
My wife can't understand why I can't just live with a couple of small dents in the roof !!!
      Cheers

I wanted a working rear screen demister so opted for a new screen from Rimmers, it was another £130 but well worth it, obviously new seals were used too, it all adds up!

          Hi Steve,

there is a body shop place on Hayes Lane, half a mile along from Norman Park on the right going towards the traffic lights and just about opposite Ravensbourne School. I have never used them but I think that they have a good reputation.

I know a man who can but he's in east Kent between Folkestone & Dover. He has just rebuild his own stag and his last little job was lead loading the side lights onto a 50s Bentley. Well a little job until you start to dig filler over untreated rust and Sellotape under filler holding wheel arches together. He has done work on my car and the quality is superb and not expensive

Let me know if of any interest

            Phil
