    Glad i checked

    Was caught out in one of our summer showers later i noticed the electric fan did not cut in when i parked up in the garage see reason below.
    cut out and done properly this time

    is this a melted in line fuse?

      That looks like a "scotch lock" type fuse, they are dangerous and unreliable. The connection was high resistance and heated up melting itself.

      Please do not use them for any high current application, or low for that matter, it could have cost you your engine.

          I've seen more melted fusholders on aftermarket fan circuits than anywhere else. No surprise considering the current draw, and the fact that they are fitted by owners rather than OE.

          I go looking for "warm" connections from time to time. Especially on the fan circuit.

          Glad you spotted that before it caused a fire.
          Header tanks - you can't beat a bit of bling.
