Am I OK to Solder Splice Repair my Ballast Resistor Wire?

As per title, I have had to make one soldered splice joint in the pink/white ballast wire on my Mk2 wiring loom. I am just wondering, with it being a special wire made from constantan, will it be OK?

My Stag is pretty much standard, even still has its original points setup.
    Cheers, Keith.

    Hi Keith,

I've done it on one car and it worked ok - having said that, it hasn't covered many miles since

I've left the joint easily accessible, out of the loom, in case further work is called for later.

    Cheers

    Julian

Why not... just check the voltage at the coil end of the wire when your done... I think you need between 9 volts and 6 volts whilst the engine is running Somebody could confirm that I'm sure

Thanks guys, I will mark its position in the loom or leave the splice out of the loom ala Julian. I also have a multi-meter somewhere...........................
