Mm no?, will be better than new, ported polished and will make sure that in 50 years the next owner will be able to remove them with nothing other than his fingers and a wrench. Do you know what are the most desirable cams for 9and a bit compression.Originally posted by V Mad View PostI take it you are scrapping the heads anyway?

Not sure if my cam is stock UK as it is US 1973 low 7.75:1 compression auto.Originally posted by V Mad View PostIts just that using a chisel for removal of heads would normally ruin the surface, so I assumed you were not going to re-use them.
I took the time to grind the bolster into a wedge, your right a chisel would not be advisable. Tried to get a few mild steel wedges which once I took for granted. If I needed to this job again (obviously not on my car) the modified bolster would be my tool of choice with said wedges.
I would stick with the standard cams unless you are going to race.

Stick with the standard cams unless you are going for a full performance exhaust system and uprated induction as well.
The inlet manifold is the restrictive point on this engine. Before I went for a fabricated inlet manifold I gained 10bhp with cams and an open plenum modified standard manifold, but lost a lot of bottom end torque.

TV8, efi, fast road cams and home built manifolds. 246bhp 220lbft torque

Thanks Neil my cams are in good condition but not sure of the profile, not been able to find specs on grinds yet, your right I just want a good street grind and don't want to sacrifice torque, just want to cruse, my VMax gives my all the excitement I can handle. John
