    tonneau cover seal

hello everyone i decided today to fit a new tonneau cover seal that i bought whilst at malvern.thought it would be simple but has escalated again when i pulled the old rubber out i noticed the metal edge that holds it in was rusted away in places so decide to cut all the bad bits out and weld new bits in. that's now done just a bit of painting left so iam nearly ready to put the new rubber in when i removed the old one it left the old mastic in there which i scraped out so now the rubber sits down to low obviously when i apply the new mastic it will rise but does anyone know if you have to get it level with the boot and rear wings and any method on how to hold it until it dries..many thanks dean

I've just placed mine in, gripped at each end with the horseshoes. I may put a couple of blobs near the curves but leaving the underside clear as thought it acted as a drain. It sits level already though with boot and wings.
