    Windscreen wiper blade replacement

    Evening All

This will sound a stupid question but how the heck do I remove the drivers side wiper blade?

The ROM and Haynes Manual are pretty vagueand refer to pulling out the bottom end of the pantograph arm free of the ball socket. Well on my car the panto arm is held onto the bottom joint by a pivot pin? Do I have to remove the pin with a punch? Seems bloody odd considering how easy the passenger side is.

Sorry to ask such simple questions.:?

      Hi Nick

I am trying to replace the blade holder, not the arm itself. I tried buying just the blades from Paddocks but they stated that could only sell me the blades and holders complete.

According to the manual I have to disengage the panto arm so as to rotate the retaining plate to allow the blade holder to pop out.

      Puzzled

You can get the rubber blades from Tony Hart on E bay takes about 30 secs a side to replace!

you can buy rubbers from halfords that will do the job today, then i would reccomend getting some of the blade and holders which are soctfl made from soc or mr hart.

              Hi Bruce

I had to prise the wiper arm - carefully - off its spindle when I changed my wiper blade. Be sure to reposition it on the correct splines when you replace it, or it will park in the wrong position. With the arm off the spindle it is just a matter of turning the blage / arm so that the pin on the blade will disengage. Be careful as someone had previously slipped and scracthed the bulkhead on mine:X

              Hope this helps.

                  Hi Bruce.

Hope I'm not late. There is a locking tab which holds the wiper blade in place. You just have to move it sideways to release the blade. It does not show up to well in the pic below.

                  Hope this is of help.

                  Paul.
