    Changing Oil pressure Switch

A quick question please, can the oil pressure switch be changed without dropping oil levels. It looks a lot higher than the sump to me and I'm guessing not too much will come out?

The problem was that I've now got a new Stag (a lot better than the old one - fingers crossed) and the oil warning light wouldn't come on. I thought it was just the cluster bulb but this tested OK. Disconnecting the wire at the oil pressure switch I found +12V on the wire with ignition on. I also found the oil switch open circuit to earth with the engine off.

    Thanks

You can change the oil pressure switch without effecting the oil, a bit fiddly, you could try a domestic tap spanner. The pressure switch is activated via earthing it, test by earthing to the engine.

What Bob says, but I would add - be wary of overtightening the new switch. It has a taper thread and goes into an alloy casting which is easy to break. BTDT.
