Is this too good to be true ?

What do we think ? The quoted CFM figure looks OK. Martin.

Seems like a good price but how long would it last?

      ??
Fantastic price..... but the picture in the product info looks different to the main item picture, the centre boss appears bigger and the blades much wider !

No such thing as a free lunch. At 80W, 7 Amp draw this thing couldn't cool a cool thing on a cold day.

Any 16" fan that only pulls 1130m3/hr is pretty feeble.

Plus a 16" fan won't easily fit a Stag - too big I think. 14" is the optimum.

i have bought and fitted one from CBS, works perfect. even cuts in after i have switched off, i have it set at 90, is that too low, should i be closer to the 100?

it came with all the fittings and only took 20 mins to fit

Good grief Steve, how did you fit that in? My 14" fan seemed a tight fit! Yours will probably pull the car along by itself!

I fitted a 16'' Pacet to mine - only used it twice, as a precaution (running up to a tail back after a long run) & it brought the temp down very quickly.

Its one that is fixed to the rad and stays with it if I take the rad out,Its snug getting it in but once in place its fine. Its only in there as a belt and brace job and never comes on with the 97 switch ive got fitted but then I have got a few other cooling mods to help out.

                    Cheers Steve

I've got a 16" fan fitted to mine, set to come on at 98 with an over ride switch which I use if I'm stuck in traffic. I've got an oil cooler fitted behind the grille which interupts the airflow to the fan / radiator and does tend to affect the cooling slightly if I sit at high engine revs (circa 4000rpm and above) for too long. I don't have any other fan fitted and use an MGB V8 alloy radiator cooling a 3900 RV8. Automatic fan operation is controlled by the ECU which I can alter via a laptop. I'll be going to the Le Mans 24 Hrs next year so will move the oil cooler elsewhere for that trip.
I've been using the Stag as a 50/50 daily driver with my regular car for the last 4 months, driving a 60mile return journey through central Glasgow at rush hour without any heating issues although I have opened the heater valve a couple of times to help.

I think it's the extra 2'' that makes the difference!!!

It usually does, so I've found.

Well, I have learned yet another thing here - that a 16" fan will fit a Stag.

Still happy with my own 14 inches tho'.

That twin speed kenlow shifts a lot of air - enough to force the engine fan to turn when the engine is off!

I got a cheap 16" fan off ebay (80 watt) to use on the Stag without the crank driven fan, complete waste of time and money. It seemed to shift a lot of air until it was installed on the car, then very little happened. Fitted a two speed 14 inch Kenlowe after that and am suitably impressed, but at the price I should be!
When I squeezed the Twin Plenum RV8 into my 2 door Toledo I went straight for the Kenlowe which does the job on that as well
