    Previouse owners bodge

Still battling away at was going to be a respray but has turned into a major rectification job mainly rectifying other peoples cock ups
Removed the sill cover and found the wing bottom was fibreglass so remover the bottom of the front wing and found it was full of filler and has had a repair panel welded on but it is welded over the rotten wing still has the paint on as can be seen .The only good bit (if there is one ) is that when I went to paddocks to get the replacement panels they let me have them at cost because they had slight surface rust and I mean slight .

Hi John, looks like it has turned into a big job, at least when it is done you will know what you have. I hate to think what might be lurking behind my wings!! Hope it's back on the road soon

Not good at all. As has been said, at least you know it will be right after you have rectified that awful bodge. Paul

A few more pics of my progress today it is now all lined up and ready to weld in place tomorrow.I have treated myself to a new welding helmet today it is one of those that goes dark when you start to weld ,what a difference it makes I now get the weld where it should be and not 3 inches away .

Since I am about to have a go at my front arches, could you tell me how wide the inner arch repair panels are?
I think one side should be ok, but the other has rot a fair way across the inner arch and I am afraid the repair panel will not reach.
                      Thanks,
                      Neil

Neil, I have an unused SOCTFL inner wing and full outer wing, I will measure tomorrow. Outer wing is drivers side, not sure re inner, but probably drivers side too. I was thinking of selling them, give me a shout if interested, I am not too far from you.......... Cheers, Keith.

when i repaired my brother car, we bought a inner repair arch from paddocks, but it was not wide enough so we added metal to the edge to turn it into a full arch

I think some folk have used trailer wheelarches, obviously hammered about A LOT, as inner wheelarch repair sections. Cheap and bigger than the ones you can buy. Paul
