I found a thread on wiring the blower moto switch so I can check that later, but I do have a very basic question. Does the blower motor actually switch off? Mine has 2 speeds: fast and faster.
Cheers

the besel is screwed back to the panel? not loose, as this could cause the switch not to return fully to off?, or if the panel has been made without the recess in the rear of the panel it would not fully return to the off position, worth a look
that could be it Tanya, i know, i did'nt put a recess on a new piece i made, it did'nt turn off at all, put the recess in in and hey presto works fine now
and as Julian has said, 3 positions, off, slow, and fast
Hi Sorry for hijacking this thread, but my blower switch is off/slow/nothing. The fast speed doesn't work. Any suggestions on how to diagnose whether this is the switch or an issue with the blower itself?

I had this problem when rebuilding mine. Try switching the three wires around and you get various combinations of off, slow and fast. Trial and error eventually got me to the right setup. Now can you tell me how to get some heat through my heater ?!!!

Hi Gord,
I hope this diagram, from the ROM, will help you check that your switch is wired up correctly.
On the other hand, I had exactly the same problem and a little switch cleaner sprayed into the switch sorted it.

Hi Richard,
The Stag heater is one of the hottest I've ever experienced ! The most common cause of lack of heat output is a stuck heater valve, on the right hand side of the heater unit, near your left toes. If you do a search on here you should find lots about it.
every bezel is a little different, in size, i always try to keep them in the correct places now, it is easy to get them mixed up, dont ask how i know
glad you fixed it.
Richard, as Julian has said, if you search you will find how to fix your problem, there are loads of post's on this, the lads helped me fix mine and where to get a new seal for the valve, even though they are no longer available according to some
many thanks for the tips. Will get around to this when the summer season is over. Too busy enjoying it at the moment. I expect we are seeing the last vestiges of summer, so making the best of it!
The O rings for the heater valve are still available.
I browsed these posts this morning and whilst out in the Stag this afternoon I thought I would try the blower. Well, my switch has only two positions - off and on - I assume low speed. have I got a duff switch?
As an aside, I downloaded Google Chrome today and this is what I am using now. However, it is so clever that it is spell checking this post in French as I go along, so almost every word is underlined in red. Anyone know how F can fix that? Other than moving back to Blighty that is!
That diagram was invaluable. Continuity test on switch showed it was functioning properly. Cleaned all the contacts, particularly No.8, and hey presto, I now have a 2-speed fan.
Thanks again for helping out. This forum is truly wonderful. Just wish I could contribute more to it.
