steering rack grease queries

Guys - I want to put grease into my mk2 steering rack via the small top bolt on the rack, please could the following be confirmed beforehand:

1. would I use normal "multipurpose", LM type grease ?
2. where do you get the correct grease nipple from / what thread size (are they available at local car spares places etc) ?
3. how much grease should you squirt in this hole ?
4. does it "fill up" the length of rack or just a small "cavity / space" in the rack ?

apologies for the number of questions, only I don't to do this and start leaks etc

Standard grease nipple - 1/8" bsp? Any decent car spares shop, about 50p. Yep, LM. Six strokes of the gun. No more. Job done.
