    Mw again, shake down issues!

Guys (& Gals), Swampy (you've guessed it: Russett Brown) is running really well after sorting my non-starting issues, and my schoolboy error with the distributor cap of a week or two ago!

Having bought her in April, and, I'm guessing, driving her more intensively than she's been driven for a while, I'm coming up with a few 'shakedown' issues.
Firstly, one is the nearside quarterlight, which hasn't open/closed properly, but has now dropped out of the aperture due to the bottom pivot hinge having been sheared (some time ago). Any suggestions for a way forward?
Secondly, I'm occasionaly getting a very slight knocking/slapping noise from the gear-box when changing up. I'm guessing it's an end-float issue (trying to sound as if I know what I'm talking about). No problems with engaging, and no jumping out of gear. Is this serious, or is it one for the 'jobs-for-the-future' list?

your need to replace the quarterlight window frame, you can buy new or s/hand ,to replace it your need to remove the inner door panel, undo the three screws that hold the quarterlight control unit to the door and theres a hinge on the out side of the door frame that needs to be undone as well

I'd avoid the temptation to replace the quarter light rubber seal - if your old one is okay. The replacements are not the best it and a bit of a pig to install.

I can report nothing bad about new quarterlight seals. Got mine form Tony Hart - they fit and seal well. Needed a lot of silicon grease to get them in though.

I could not get them to sit flat all round and they're both crinkled in one spot.

Thanks for this, guys. Any thoughts on the gearbox noises. I'm probably being a bit paranoid about this!
