    Window channel felt

Can anyone tell me where I can get good fitting original type window channel felt please? I am about to replace the quarter light seals and I noticed that the felts are probably past their best...!!

Not sure where the best ones are but I've seen it mentioned that some of them can do with a little trimming to prevent them pinching the glass too much.

This is a diagram of the mod that you may need to do.

        Cheers

Duncan from Skye wrote a piece about this and said not to cut the felt he has sent me a whole bit on window felt replacement.

Yes agree its the fitting of the channel and making sure the edges are tucked in to the channel correctly.
When I first fitted mine I just though that it slid into place as the old ones almost fell out.
but having read some where on here probably Duncan's advice/ notes it requires a bit of effort to get it into the channels correctly but makes a big difference. Mine before fitting it correctly the window would stick judder and eventually make it to the top (we are talking window glass here!!) now it just slide gracefully all the way up and down with little effort.
and for my next book "only one shade of white".

Got mine from Paddocks (or could have been Robsports!). To fit, I cut them to length - although the verticals can be left over long - and then put them in the channel feeding one side in and then the other with a large screwdriver. Once I got the hang of it, it was quite easy. The windows now 'glide' up and down with no juddering at all!

Mind you, I did do mine with the channel assembly out of the doors.

                Cheers,
                Mike.
