Hi all,
Just checking why the temp gauge now reads quarter when the engine is warmed up. It read about halfway before I did the cooling system revamp, and I'm not sure I did that good a job! The car is running great. I was reading about voltage stabilisers. Mine is wired as attached, and it appears to be missing a green wire compared to another picture on a thread here, electrode circled. I can't find the wire. The fuel gauge is working, I think. It went up with a fill. It's a 1971 Mk 1 (USA, LHD).
Also, THe starter turns over well at cold, but sluggish when warm. At the moment the car does start. Is it the coil? It is a regular Lucas coil, but I do have a new Crane Cams Fireball XR700 coil (name sounds racy anyway) to fit with the same make electronic ignition. Maybe time to fit??voltage stabiliser 71 Stag.jpg
