Stags on TV in the 1970s

Does anyone remember a series in the early '70s with a Stag?

This is what I think I remember

A weekly series - probably 6 x 1 hour episodes
A young man, living in UK; his parents are retired, and living in the South of France.
He loses contact with his parents - no letters, no answer to phone calls.
So, he sets off in his Stag (yellow, I think) to drive to the South of France, to solve the mystery.
On the way, various things happen, which seem to be connected to his parents' life.
He meets (inevitably) a pretty young French woman, who joins him on his quest.

I can't remember how it ended!

I can't find any reference to it in any of the normal directories of cars on TV.

I seem to remember that this was a large part of my "I want one of those" feelings about the Stag!

Yes I remember a 70s series called "Hazell" in thich Nicholas Ball played Hazell, a private dick.

I never followed it but remember his car was a yellow Stag and he was a typical medallion man with permed hair, tight jeans, short leather jacket, shirt open to the waist with a hugh medalion. I could be looking in a mirror except for the hair.

Steve, you're right except that it was a (dark) green Stag. (see at 30:24 in this video). Maybe that Hazell changed the Stag before or later to yellow.

Well it's neither BRG or Yellow now and hasn't seen the road for sometime.

Thanks - yes, Google found that! I can't see anything there that fits what I remember.

yellow was the last thing on his mind ,because in the program some one damage his car and it was green
