Hi Ian, just to add a positive note, the outer handles aren't hard to change, the prob is the rearmost bolt, if you get someone to hold the handle fully open, you can see it and access is quite good, do that one first, after that, flick the little vertical link holder off, and the handle just lifts away from the lock rod. Mazak is the ultimate proof that God has a sense of humour. To repair it properly, you need to drill out ALL the pits, then get it heavily copper plated, polished and then chromed, as Andrew says. You can prep them, if you can get hold of a conductive solder, silver comes to mind but there are others that are a bit cheaper, fill, then polish back, and have them chromed. None of this is cost effective, but you will have a part that lasts. I've come across a few repro bowls, but none have lasted well. Did you know that you can dissolve Mazak in tomato sauce ? True, wicked stuff. I once experimented with dissolving the muck in the pits with Bilt Hamber Deox C, it worked well if you kept an eye on it, but left alone, the pits turned into holes. Good luck, I hope you're succesful. Martin.
P.S. Just read Seaking's post, the melting point is too high, I tried using a paint stripping torch and the bloody stuff sagged as the repair was starting to melt.
