    Hood problem

Any suggestions on how to release a hood that is stuck? When I pull the release lever there is an audible click but the striker/plunger thingy won't release....

    Richard,
Has happened to me on occassions , I just get a firm hold of the flap part of the hood by the plunger and give it a tug towards the rear of the car, that seems to flex the hood frame just enough to release the hood plunger from the catch.
    Good luck

Another method worth trying is, whilst holding the release lever, thump the side of the hood frame where it sits on the rear wing (OS).

Richard, if none of the other suggestions work out take off the cubby panel and pull the relevant cable by hand to release the plunger,an assistant may be useful to lift the hood while you pull the cable.

If you use an open ended spanner, you can undo the two bolts holding the catch takes a while...Quite often you only need to slacken them off and try the again.

Problem solved. Thanks for all the advice. In the end I got inside the car and push the plunger from the inside. The end of the plunger has a cap and a spring. If the two were ever connected they had come apart and the it was the cap that was catching underneath the hole in the tonneau cover. I've adjusted the catch now so that the plunger locates more centrally in the hole.

I have the same problem with mine periodically. I make sure to release from the windscreen first so the hood's not under tension. If it still sticks i get inside and as Davej says, put a screwdriver onto the plunger and tap gently while someone jiggles the catch release.

My plunger's at a bit of an angle so I have to make sure it goes into the hole properly........ooh-er missus, very Frankie Howard.
I bought a new plunger but I think the hood frame's a bit bent so that just made it worse, so i went back to the old bent one.
