Probably not Martin, too much trouble, modern fuels and oils help here. Going through the fuel tank / plug hole routine is probably a good thing, and certainly won't do any harm, but frankly, it's a bit of a pain. Martin.

I remember Redex from the 1960s and did not realize it is still around. As Martin says modern fuels makes Redex virtually redundant. In my father's motoring days they used to de-coke engines every so often and Redex was a remedy for this procedure. Coked up engine are unheard of today.

I still carry Redex around with me and add it to the Petrol every now and again. It's still sold over here.

Hi, There used to be an auto injection system availible and of recent times Moreys oil additive had a similar auto system. How they exactly worked I don't remember or if they are compatibal with a modern Hp injection system. That is not a concern for a carbureetor Stag.

You never know it might be an anti-dote for ethelene. All the claimed treatment products for ethelene are coming from the oil companies, they know more than they are letting on.

i stuff some in the tank every now and again, and once every summer I like to create 3 mins of white smoke for the neighbours by letting it slurp into the throats of the carbs

It states suitable for biofuels up to E20, so think you could be right, it,s also a upper cyclinder lubricant and after seeing the carbon on the top of my pistions when i did the head gaskets i think it,s a good idea with an old fuel system (carb,s manual choke etc) an old girl likes a bit of lubricant

I use it too. So far no problems, just force of habit i suppose.

                  Cheers.
