Good luck Tel, although I reckon it looks like you know what you're doing

I think many of ours could well be like that, if only we knew I suppose it's only to be expected in a car that's 35 or 40 years old from a time when they were lucky to last 10 !

    Cheers

Great pictures and good luck with the work. Once you remove all the rot and see what's left I'm sure there is enough to strengthen and rebuild. Mine had dreaded cover sills and at a glance looked great but what goes on inside is another matter keep up the good work.

Hi Terry, good luck mate, you're already down in my book as a hero, for bringing one of these old girls back to life !
There are a few on here, and I admire them all. Good luck. Martin.

Cheers Edd , Martin its going to take longer then i thought ,but i have got over the winter to get stuck in. Mine also had the chrome sill covers and it did not look to bad untill i took them off. I have most parts now just got to get a 3/4 rear wing most suppliers are out of stock.

                many thanks Terry

One hole is much the same as another! As Edd says once you get the rot cut out it wont look so bad. The worse thing with yours is that someone has had the chance to do it right before but didnt do it. now its your turn so you can fix their mistakes. Loads of help on here and loads of pictures of Stags in a very similar condition to yours.
Good luck and dont forget to keep us up dated with your progress reports

Hiya Terry, join my campaign to do away with those sill covers, they can look very attractive, but every time I see them, I think, what's hidden underneath. Martin.

i know what you mean Martin i was looking at possibly fixing the sill back on, but easily enough to take it back off to clean underneath without using rivets ,worried about getting metal worm again !!!!!!!!!!!!
