additional waterpump?

Hello,

how about that: In order to assist the original Stag waterpump install an additional (auxiliary) electric pump, which kicks in together with the Kenlowe fan.

This pump (see here: http://www.ebay.de/itm/Bosch-0392020...item19d559e737) is used e.g. in Ford Galaxys and VW Sharans as soon as a towbar is fitted to assist the original pump under heavy duty conditions. These pumps are compact and reliable.

Just an idea. What do you think of it?

Hello Dieter.
These pumps are usually used to keep the heater working after the engine has stopped. I believe the pumping capacity of the Stag pump is adequate. Many of us have changed to other pumps to avoid the potential mechanical failures of the standard pump.
Interesting that they are fitted to certain cars as a towing upgrade, as I didn't think marginal cooling systems were still made.

Could be a good idea when the engine has stopped to keep water circulating around the radiator with an electric fan.
it always concerns me when my water capillary gauge jumps up whenever I stop...usually for fuel.

Hi Dieter,
The bosch pump will help to reduce the heat soak.
It will be better with an electric fan as per (MJ H post)

The austrailian electric kit is available to cover all cases.....I came close to fitting one this year, but didnt in the end.

I have all the parts (kit/hoses/controller/pump/mk1 transfer housing/ alternator relocation kit etc) if you wish to try it.
