    Door card clips.

I'm trying to find some door card clips, I see LD has them, but says the boards have to be cut, that's a hell of a lot of cutting! I bought a stock of them some years ago from that "well known supplier", and they're as useful as a wooden frying pan. Anyone got experience of the LD ones or any suggestions please ? Martin.

Martin, get the alternative ones from Peter,

you don't have to cut the door cards, I have used them on both door cards and they work really well.

I have a couple of the LD items (although I acquired them for my Beetle from GSF many moons ago), and my Stag came with a bag of clips that Rimmers et al supply like the green item below:

Out of the two the Beetle clips held the card on quite well (generally speaking, I fitted them near the corners), with the 'standard' clips popping off in a few places and generally speaking, they were not far off useless in some locations as you have said (the corners being the main one). Pete himself at LD will say that the upgraded clips are only required in a few key areas of the doorcard, and not around the entire circumference of it.

Remember however, to avoid damaging the doorcard a clip removal tool will most likely be required with the alternative clips.

As chas has said, duplicate post, i used them all round, not needed though, but it dont move at all and it is a bit of pain to get them off again, i have to be careful with the card it self, dont forget to get some clear sticky back pvc, you might as well put a new membrane on while the cards off, i did mine, and as it.s clear you can cut a little bit bigger than you normally would.

oh yea, derust paint and wax it too!! one job leads to another i know

Thanks for that Alan, but I can't tell which ones you mean ? I have a roll of modern gasket material, single use, but lovely stuff. Hydrax is currently running out of the drain holes Martin.

I shall admit, they turned out to be a mixed blessing when I came to fit them from me thinking life was made easier with them present!

The Beetle clip I acquired are the same type that Alan posted up about Very secure indeed they are!:
