As many of you will remember back in the 60's& 70's the Dutch car clubs initiated a rally in the Alps covering 17-1 800 miles over 40 hours!.We did it in a leisurely 8 days.We were blessed with the best weather you could want, covering over 31 cols mainly in the French Alps. The tour started in Wangenbourg and finished in Beaune, having been to Mulhouse(The Schlumph Museum)Gerardmer.Pontarlier,Archamps,Megeve and La Clusaz. The tour was organised &run by the indomitable York Geriatrics Club,of which I am a member. The reason I why I am writing this account of fine motoring is to try & inform Stag owners not to be pusillanimous when considering foreign travel in your cars.Where are you going in your Stag?,says a sage on the Hull Ferry,Doing a Tulip Rally I reply,Dont be daft,it will break down.Well I can report it never missed a beat.returning 28mpg.Prep your car well and enjoy the French Road system, which the Stag was built originally to do.
