Tony.
Well done.
It is very satisfying and you should be proud. Its just a little nerve racking as every body on the road seems to be aiming for you. If the weather with you has been as good as down here then this weekend has been good for Stag driving.
Thanks everyone, I forgot to say in the post a big thank you to all the forum members that helped along the way during the many "head scratching" moments.
Just to answer a few questions, I haven't dared add up the costs but I would imagine the car owes me at least £12k by now, including purchase price and it was off the road for 7 years. That figure does include modifications such as a manual overdrive conversion, Datsun driveshafts, Holley carb, tubular manifolds, engine rebuild etc., etc and it could have been considerably cheaper if I was able to paint it myself.
I've posted pics before but if anyone is interested and hasn't seen them before I have various folders e.g. inner sills, wings and outriggers within my photobucket account:

I think a huge round of applause is in order! What a great feeling it must be to do all that work and then get the pleasure of driving it too!
Well done and I'm feeling rather jealous!
