    Red or Green

I have just had some work done and the garage said that they wanted to change my anti-freeze from green to red as it is better for the Stag engine. Also, when I insisted on green that they couldnt source green through their suppliers.

Cant comment on the first point with anyauthoritybut I think that the second one about availability is a load of bullsh*t.

I didnt pick the car up due to timing problems (a friend collected) but based on what I have seen under the bonnet before the rain came down to heavy last night, at best I wil be doing a bit myself at the weekend, at worse, taking the car back next week, with the hassle that entails.

Red is becoming the norm these days. It's supposed to last 5 years with better anti corrosion qualities than the blue/green variety, but that's probably just marketing bollocks coz it costs a load more. Apparently they don't mix too well and the basic ingredients are quite different so a good flush is recommended if changing.
I can still get good old tried and tested Bluecol from my local independent motor factor, but it's not cheap either. It's the same situation as Plusgas, a vastly superior product to WD40, but try getting your hands on it these days.
There's a coincidence. I was just told today about Plusgas and how it is the dogs proverbials. Was going to get some to put on the head studs. Have found it online but with delivery comes out at about £12-£13 for 400ml aerosol!
    Anyone know of anywhere else?
