    Will it fit?

I have to collect my hard top soon and unable to drive my Stag the long distance to pick it up. My wife has Freelander 2 and with the back seats all folded down will my hard top fit in the back?
I don't know the dimensions of my wife's car but could measure it if needed but any thoughts on will the hard top fit anyway?
I have nearly a 500 mile round trip to collect it but with the damp weather now fully here will have to make the journey ASAP.

    Many thanks

I can tell you some cars it doesn't fit in if that helps, a 53 reg Mondeo estate which was quite roomy, a VW Caddy high roof van and a C class Mercedes estate.

If I were you I would take some pieces of wood at least 6 feet long (and a saw) some rope a and a plastic sheet and use the roof bars on the Freelander.

Mine came home on the roof of the Mondeo this way.

    Ian.

I would guess that it won't fit - you'll find that it is too wide.

I also think that it would be too heavy for your roof rack.

Have you thought of a courier? Or maybe hiring a Transit yourself?

They are fine on factory fitted roof bars Peter, mine came home from Kent like this and Dean bought his back from the Midlands the same way. The wood just helps as you can place it under the rear side windows to accommodate the width.

And if you do bring it back on a roof rack, fix it backwards......................
