North Essex Recommended Mechanics

Hi, I have recently joined the club having just purchased a 1977 Stag.

Can anyone recommend someone for basic maintenance in the North Essex area. I have thought about using Robsport but they are about 40 miles away. Any recommendations would be much appreciated.

Hiya (name ?) Welcome, I've used Robsport before now and they're 60 miles from me. They're nice folk and good at what they do. Part of the fun of a Stag is driving it Martin.

I live in south Essex and use Faversham Classics in Kent. That is 60 miles away and means a trip over, and under, the Dartford crossing(now £2.00 a time). From what I hear some people travel further than that to use them. Best to contact the Essex area group to see who they use. As Martin suggests any excuse to drive the Stag is fun.

I live in North Essex and use Chris Barnard at Gainsford Hall at Houghtons Farn, Gainsford End, Toppesfield CO9 4EH.

He's on 01787 238110


He has worked on my current and previous Stags changing driveshafts and sorting carb problems as well as working on my daily car and wife's car.

He's worked on Mercs and BMWs in the past and was until a few years ago a farmer but has gone back to car trade as there's no money in Milk.

He's very nice and well priced.
