Forum App?

I use my IPad to look at the forum it now asks me to download the App anyone else tried it?

If you go to the App Store all the reviews suggest 'avoid' so I haven't bothered.............

Tried the app. Works fine and very fast on my IPad for reading.
Unfortunately I was unable to post to the forum from this app.
I had to first select the link to goto the forum directly and then to send.

Dont know if this is a bug or not.

For £1.23 or whatever it is i suppose i might try it but most of the reviews in android sugggest it does not work since the last upgrade!?

Well it seems to work fine(famous last wordsi know!!) but if this post works then it allows me to post ok and is much quicker on my phone and easier as i do not have to scroll across and will hopefully cut my data usage.

Can I ask how you are posting from the app or do you use the Jump to SOC Forum link and then post?

When I am on a thread I just click the menu button on my phone which brings up a different menu to when it is not in a thread and one of the options is "reply" .I am using the android app though.

Looking at their forum it seems I am not the only one with this sending issue on Ix devices

I was looking for an IPad forum reader to use with the SOC forum, since the normal web site doesn't allow for picture insertion using the IPad safari web browser and I came across this thread.
The app you mentioned, Forum runner, is now very useable as here I am using it. It also allows for picture insertion from the IPad photos library, editing of profile picture etc which I couldn't do before. The replies and posting all seem to work well. So far so good and so far I can recommend it.

FYI. Before I found the Iphone/Ipad app "forum runner" I looked at app "forum reader" and put in a request to have the SOC forum added to their support sites for their app. Apparently they have just done this, so there's another app alternative for anyone interested. I haven't tried it as happy with "forum runner" app. Here is their email to me today for interest:

The latest version enables us to push forum updates directly to your device. Simply go to the Settings tab, check for updates and download. Hi all
I tried to understand this thread but I failed.
I don't have any problem to read the forum on my 4.1 Android smartphone. So please what is the sens of the app? Could somebody do me the favor and summerize with simple words

--why should I use an/the app?

--where can I download the Android-app?

I just got me a nice new Samsung phone and am using the forum sat next to the misses in comfort and it works great just like thecpc in my cold study
