    last drive today

had my last drive today in the stag ,the sun was splitting the trees brilliant, only a short burst realy about twenty miles through the countryside left my throttle position sensor to go shopping so it was a bit of a spirited drive !! the stag is going deep south on tuesday for a new paint job and then on its return it will get some new leather and wood plus some other bling to be fitted under the bonnet.new inlet manifold and carburettor set up along with cooling mods including headertank and stagdads water pump and a few other essential upgrades to help lower my blood pressure on runs.also have a new set of alloys to fit split rims they need to be shod first .this should see me into the new year when i have other plans to do a few tweaks on suspension and braking.i did plan to buy a second toy possibly a mustang but most of the ones i went to see were imho way over priced and the vendors lied about how good they were so decided to spend more on the stag to make it better and maybe get an alfa apparently everyone should have owned and driven at least one ! i have not yet.

Always fancied a early Mustang - will have to have one one day. Sounds like the Stag will be great when finished.

dave ,im keeping it white but it will be a creamy white as i prefer that look bit more old skool not a fan of modern whites .
steve ,cheers mate rekon most of the lancias are long since dissolved like the mechanics on them but body styling left a lot to be desired imho.

There is a 5 litre V8 convertable Mustang, I think it was 1998 model advertised locally here that need re-commisioning for about £2800, no idea what it's like though.

Spot on, they rust while you watch, but as a driving experience ? the Italians know what they're doing ! Years ago I had a Giugiaro GTV, fixed seatbelts for a very good reason, you pull them as tight as you can stand, then go for it ! Once wound up, there was no need to drop off the cam for anything, roundabouts, bends, nothing phased it, superb! do it ! enjoy ! The best of them is the Giugiaro GTV V6. The Bertone cars are special, but not as good, and too precious and pricey. Enjoy, and good luck with your old girl. Martin.

There was one on TV recently. Some classic car experts restored one to show condition for peanuts. Really dedicated pair they were. I think one was from the SE somewhere, Bernie is his name.............

Yes things fine here. A blast to see ray on Sunday no sloppy fan belt and Alan's carbs doing what they should.

I might have to go to Bracknell in the next couple of weeks. If the bonnets still around
