"Noise on full lock"

Hi Guys, have a Noise on full lock, left hand down, sounds like back plate on disc ?, or something any idea,s , nothings loose. New disc and bearings fitted, rack bushes showing sign,s of distress.

is the noise coming from the rack ,pump or running gear ? Graham

Rack and pump seem ok, it,s on very hard lock, sounds like , disc, wheel or back plate on something but can't see anything.

have you fitted new stainless steel back plates,i ask because i fitted then on mine and i found that they rub the disc,you have to rebent the fixing brackets

so it's only on left hand corners then, ?? no play in the wheel bearings? caliper loose? tyre rubbing on lock ? thinking out loud

Only on left hand corners, will check back plate again, not fitted new stainless back plates, new wheel bearings, caliper tight, will check tyre rub next, but not that sort of sound.

OK so when you go round a left hander and it makes the noise and you touch the brake does the noise go ? Graham

Happerns mostly when swinging into a car parking stop or turn hard left out of a junction, slow speeds very tight lock, ok on fast bends etc

I have a similar sound and I'm suspecting it is either the dampers insert moving or the top mount wearing.

Must have a look sometime....
