    Airbox & Cam covers

I am trying to smarten up my engine bay and decided to spray my Airbox and PAS pump the other day with the camcovers to be done this weekend.

I selected dove grey (ford) for the airbox as I seem to remember this being suggested on the forum awhile ago? But when i compared this new colour to an original one last night it is a little lighter than original, does anyone know what shade of grey the airbox should be?

Also I have some silver for th camcovers but this looks to light as well and someone told me last night the colour is a grey not a silver? Anyone know the right colour?

    Stuart

PS trying to make it look presentable for National Day!

I've use Ford Dove Grey for the air box and Ford Strattos Silver for the cam covers. Seems close enough for me, but I'd love to know the proper colour.

Damm I'veusedthe F word twice. Off to wash my mouth out with 20/50

Thats the colours I have but I was reliable informed by the anorak brigade that these colours are wrong!

It's not the end of the world but if I knew what the proper colour is and it is available i might as well use it!

I used Dove Grey for mine as well - also from the Forum. I too thought it was lighter than the original - it still looks better than it did though so mine staying! My cam covers are silver spray on hammerite.

I had some colour matched and put in an aerosol, matched to an old original flake of paint. I wouldn't worry too much it's a horrible colour

Taking the dashpot covers and camcovers off won't unbalance or upset the tune of the engine. Just take off the Airbox and elbows then the camcovers can come off.

The dashpots just unscrew the 4 screw polish then screw back on again.
