While cleaning the inside of the hard top, I found two C shaped burn marks, just above the vents in the C pillars. I'm guessing there are two high resistance connections to the HRW. Does anyone know if there's access to replace them without stripping the headlining ? Martin

 Hi Martin,

When I had mine stripped down, there was just a simple wire from the B pillar connector to the outlet at the C pillar.

As far as I remember, if you were to unscrew the C pillar vent that should give you access ok.

At worst, the headlining is only glued to the C pillar but I fear, if it's old, you might damage it if you tried to unpeel it.

Alternatively, if the hardtop is off the car, I'm sure you could feed a new wire through with a bent coathanger.

I've got what's left of my old hardtop outside if you want me to look at anything on it.

 Cheers

 Julian

 Hi Mart,

when i refurbed my top, i'm sure there are 2 clips somewhere there that hold the wire in place, perhaps it could be a mark from the clips and not nessasarly a burn mark, just a thought, i have some spare wire i think if you need it, and as Julian has said, it is just one lenth of wire

 hope this helps mate

 Hi Martin,

Here's a few pics of the wreck of my hardtop to give you some idea of what's lurking under the headlining. I know it hasn't got a B pillar anymore - that got sent to someone on the forum a year or two ago !

 Cheers

 Julian

Bath's a bit of a stretch, as much as we love it. Martin.
