hi all, has anyone painted there seat rails and frame, if so with what and what was the outcome, or does the paint come off with the adjustment of the seat and look worse than the dirty rails that you start with? any advice would be great thanks
Joel.
if you look on my profile i did mine when i did the seats, you need to take the frame off the seat base, i cleaned them with a wire brush, then wire wool and hamerite smooth silver spray paint, have come up a treat. you need to degrease them too, slide them one way fully, spray, then the other spray, then regrease them when you fit them. oh and dont forget the bolt heads, i did and had to use touch up paint
hi Alan thanks for the reply. i've got the frame off and was thinking doing them black but when the seats are moved back and forward does this movement remove any paint thats visible? if so then silver may be the way to go.
Joel.
i think you will find they might Joel, as i had silver marks where they had been slid backwards and forwards, but hope fully i'm wrong, you could try it and see how you get on, hopefully someone else will come along who has done this and help you out. you could set the seat then touch up any silver? what do you think

thanks guys, will try black first as i think this will make the rails less noticeable and blend in with black carpet and seats. if it scratches up to much and looks horrible then silver it is. thanks again for help.
Joel.
ive just done mine halfords aluminium silver paint for the seat runners, and gloss black for the seat base,i put a wire brush on a drill to remove the rust from both runners and the seat base
