rear subframe Mount 150382 to polly or leave a rubber

I looked at some old threads and see different views on what material to use for the 2 rear Subframe Mounts 150382. Most of my suspension will be polly, have bought rubber for the diff mounts and will have a set of spax adjustables. Really not clear which way to go with the 2 rear subframe mounts, are people who've got these happy? or is extra noise and vibration too much risk? Any thoughts welcome before i buy

    cheers

Seems like the main benefit at the rear it to reduce the Stag twitch. If you've upgraded/changed your half shafts there may not be much point. most people will probably notice an improvement switching from rubber to polyurethane but they're probably comparing old shagged bushes with new urethane ones. I've gone to urethane everywhere but I've stuck with std half shafts. I'm sure there'll be other opinions on this!

I understand from a couple of suppliers, that the quality of imported rubber parts has deteriorated badly, and they're not lasting well. I can't see there being a problem with fitting the softest poly bushes (dark blue) Martin.

I have the same dilemma with my project stag at the moment.
Many years ago the subframe bushes on my PI saloon rusted away, I contacted Chris Witor and asked the life expectancy of the repro bushes as he listed originals as well. His reply of "sometimes as little as weeks" ensured I bought a set of originals which at the time were double the price at £35 compared to £17. Unfortunately his originals now list at £90 +VAT so I have just ordered a pair of poly items from Rimmers which were cheapest while their sale was on (ended yesterday)

          Thanks for advice
I am thinking of polly then, they cost a lot more than regular rubber , but certainly don't want to be changing them regulary if i buy rubber and they fail.
Guess If the polly were crap, i'd have to fork put the £90 each for originals. But as polly seem to be okay i'll go that route then. thanks for responses.

I have poly everywhere except those subframe bushes, cost put me off mainly but I think I read that poly may be a little too hard and viration can be transmitted through the car.

I also have spax all around, my diff bushes are voided poly, dark blue IIRC

I've got poly everywhere. Seems fine to me.

As long as the poly bushes are of the Superflex variety (they tend to be dark blue) IME you should be fine from an NVH point of view. The cheaper poly bushes yes can give a bone shaking ride. Quite a few Stag specialists sell their stuff (one of which is based down south, the other a little closer to Leicester ).

One of the smoothest IRS based Triumphs I have driven was fully Superflexed although I do admit it was not the only modification done to the suspension (KYB dampers etc.).

Don't Superflex/Chris Witor sell New Old Stock Metalstik subframe bushes as a reliable rubber alternative to the modern (and questionably inferior) rubber bushes) alongside his Poly items?

I hate to say it, but even on moderns IME it seems that you get what you pay for when it comes to suspension. Shot suspension bushes after a year anyone?

                  thanks again to everyone
going on line now, to buy some superflex polly.

I fitted superflex blue poly all round last winter, including diff mounts, the big sub-frame mounts, and trailing arms at the back; anti-roll bar, steering rack mounting, drag struts and main suspension arms at the front.
I have in the past fitted new Unipart rubber mounts.
I can't find words to describe the difference the poly bushes make. For the first time in 30 years, it goes exactly where I point it. I have never experienced such precision in the steering, and the most obvious is when making multiple direction changes, like going straight on at a roundabout. I haven't noticed any adverse noise or vibration.
So, in summary, I strongly recommend them.
