    Puzzle ? ?

I've got my lovely new discs and pads fitted - now the wheels won't go back on ! There's a quarter inch step on the face of the hub, and the centres of the wheels won't pass over it. I'm guessing that the size of the centre hole is to too fine a tolerance, and the hole has contracted in the cold.
I'm going to remove some metal from the wheel centre with a flap wheel to try and get some clearance. Any thoughts chaps ? Martin.

Tried swapping them from side to side?

Hi Wilf, I can't, the tyres are asymmetric. Martin.

You could try it and if it works swap the discs....

Worth a shot. Got a burr on the hubs or the wheel inner bores?

          Both wheels the same?

Think I would rather put a lead in or chamfer onto the wheel mating face than take material off the whole bore.

            Hi Martin
The discs and pads are new but are the hubs?
If the same wheels came off the same hubs and now the wheels won't fit now that the original hubs heve had new discs bolted to them, I suspect it may have something to do with the offset of the new discs.

I checked the discs very carefully, as you do, and they're identical.
Wilf, that's more or less what I have in mind.
The problem lies entirely with the wheels and the hubs, discs and calipers are not involved.
Very grateful guys, keep it coming - please.

Don't flap wheel the wheels mate, you stand a chance of it not being round or central afterwards...

Leave the wheels in the house for 24 hours to warm up. See if they fit then.

                    Martin, just a thought,

When Carl fitted his new wheels he had the same problem and the supplier had to provide him with some 4 or 5 mm spacers to overcome the problem. I think they are a similar wheel if not the same as you have.

Is it possible that you have been running around with the wheels just bolted up tight against what ever they touched!

Twilight zone Ian, spot on ! I bought a set of 5mm spacers a year ago while thinking about the Minilites, and promptly forgot about them, I remembered them this morning, and guess what ? The wheels must have just fitted, and contracted in the cold, there were no issues of any sort after I bought them - weird !
Wilf, that's a good idea, and I did think of it, but then I remembered SWMBO Martin.

I guess the Stag is trying to have the original wheels put back on . Saying that, there is something to be said about a smooth ride.
