I dont know much about the car's history except that the previous owner bought this car to restore, but had to abandon the project as he had been posted abroad for about 4 years. When I bought it 18 months ago it was just a painted rolling shell, with a rebuilt engine (not fitted) and needed putting back together. Unfortunately the engine turned out to be siezed as it had been stored in a damp shed, but luckily I managed to free it off, fitted it to the car and so far it seems to be running well.
I blogged all the trials and tribulations of my resto in a previous forum post (Teal Blue Stag etc).
The DVLA database of the vehicle shows last date of liability as Feb 1983, so it must have been off the road for nearly 30 years. But that I am glad to say is no longer the case.
Today it passed its MOT. No advisories!
Now I can go to the LVLO to get it re-registered as a Historic Vehicle and get my free tax disk. There are still a few niggles to sort out but the car is pretty useable. Roll on 2013 and the summer.
