Today has been one of frustration to say the least. Firstly, British Gas were supposed to be installing our new gas boiler today and tomorrow. But that idea went for a ball of chalk after they only sent one fitter for one day instead of two for two days, plus the wrong amount and diameter of copper pipe
. Anyway, after a series of frustrating calls this evening to try and organise them coming back to do the job I have paid them for, I finally arrived home in the stag. With it being dark and raining I decided to stick my head out of the drivers side window to assist with reversing past the Volvo onto the driveway. Yes you guessed it, the window went half way down and then refused to move up or down. BL**DY great considering the lousy weather. The other window was still functioning so the thermal cutout wasn't the culprit. Anyway I chucked the cover over the car and went into the house to continue venting my spleen at British Gas.
A bit later I went back out armed with a screwdriver and torch. Couldn't see anything wrong with the wiring at the switch so simply ran a feed direct from the battery to the motor to confirm it was functioning and get the window closed which was my main priority so I can use the car again tomorrow. The motor worked fine and the car is now water tight again. I will have to investigate the wiring further at the weekend when I can have a good look in the daylight and hopefully when its not raining quiet so heavily! I think I will swap the switch over to see if that is the culprit.
I think "Ursula2" is trying to tell me that she doesn't like being forced to live outside whilst her garage is occupied by the GT6. Looking on the bright side I have found a large workshop to hire which is located on a farm just outside Crewe, about 3 miles from our house. So as of a few weeks time the GT6 will be moved there for me to continue with its restoration at a much faster rate with the additional benefit of allowing the Stag to move back in-doors on a night time in between ferrying me to and from work.
Cheers
